As a rule, parcel services don't accept pallets at all, whether it's furniture sold privately and screwed onto a pallet for shipping or a business that regularly sends palletised goods. With traditional freight forwarders, a single pallet often means waiting days for a quote.
With transportami you can ship a pallet without picking up the phone. You enter the pickup and destination locations, pallet type, dimensions and weight online and see your price instantly. Then you choose the pickup date, pay online and your booking is complete. The transport is carried out by vetted forwarding partners from our network, namely within Germany, between Germany and Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Poland, and within Switzerland.
Private customers ship their goods on a disposable pallet, a simple wooden pallet for a single transport. Business customers can also ship on a Euro pallet (the standardised reusable pallet measuring 120 × 80 cm), in a mesh pallet box (a steel mesh container on a pallet base) or as an IBC (a plastic tank in a mesh frame, usually holding 1,000 litres). Up to six pallets with up to 1,250 kg per pallet and 3,000 kg in total can be booked online. Our guide to general cargo shipping explains how your pallets travel as groupage together with other shipments. For single large items such as a sofa or a washing machine, see the guide to bulky goods transport.
