What does freight forwarding cost?
transportami calculates the price of your shipment for each route individually: from the pickup and delivery locations, the number, dimensions and weight of your packages and the rate you choose. You see it in the calculator before you book; you do not need to request a quote.
Your shipment travels as general cargo, so it shares the lorry with other shipments. That is why you only pay for the space your packages need. Private customers see gross prices including VAT in the calculator, business customers see net prices. The example prices further down give you a first impression.
What your price depends on
The pickup and delivery locations determine the route. Online you can book transports within Germany, between Germany and Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Poland, and within Switzerland.
The number, dimensions and weight of your packages, including the pallet, go into the price. Up to six packages with a total of 3,000 kg can be booked online, with no more than 1,250 kg per package.
Private customers ship on a disposable pallet. Business customers can also ship on Euro pallets, in mesh pallet boxes (steel mesh containers in pallet size) or in an IBC.
For every available rate, the calculator shows you the price, the transit time and the expected delivery. You choose the pickup day yourself.
Business customers add individual additional services such as the driver delivery notice or a delivery appointment by phone. Private customers choose a rate package, and the dispatcher calls before delivery.
For pickups in the EU, insurance is always included for private customers and preselected for business customers. The premium depends on the value of goods; goods worth up to €15,000 can be insured online.

What the price includes and what may be charged extra
Included in the price
- Pickup on the day you choose and kerbside delivery, i.e. up to the front of the building, not inside
- Lorry with tail lift and pallet truck, so you do not need a loading dock
- Shipping labels, which arrive by email with the order confirmation
- Online shipment tracking
- Up to 15 minutes of waiting time at pickup and delivery
What may be charged extra
- Waiting time: after 15 minutes, €30 per started 15 minutes
- Different details: if the number, dimensions or weight at pickup differ from the booking, transportami may charge the difference plus a €30 handling fee
- Unsuccessful pickup or delivery: a new attempt may be charged at twice the freight price
- Loading docks or time slots that have to be booked at the sender or recipient are not included in the price
- If a shipment cannot be delivered, storage costs €1 per day and pallet space from the fourth working day, plus €5 each for putting it into and taking it out of storage

How to save and how to pay
With a free customer account you get a 5% discount on your orders*. If you ship regularly, you can request personal terms through our consultation for frequent shippers. You redeem voucher codes when booking; a voucher then replaces the discount of your customer account.
Private customers pay when booking, for example with PayPal, Klarna, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay or TWINT. Business customers can also pay by invoice, due within 7 days.
